Model of Ghibli film

Day start at 8:30 am. Better than the last 2 days.

This sight Beng Mealea is a 90 minute ride from Siam Reap. Too far away and dangerous to be discovered for a while because of the civil war (mines still scatter not so far away I heard). Therefore the sight remains mostly untouched and the architecture has not been repaired.

I also heard Hayao Miyazaki the Japaneses anime (Ghibli) film creator came here and imagined his film "Laputa: The Flying Island" (I like this film btw).


Nice stay in Cambodia. People were very kind including the tuktuk drivers and sales staff in various places.
The Khmer people have a rich culture and historically strong power until 15th century which they are proud of. Modern war and political tension remaining post-war era with its neighboring countries makes them feel that they need economic power (not just military) to balance back the power (Japan may be able to learn something from them).
They have a long way to go but I understood Japan can help a lot (and is already helping a lot) to support them.

Very short bust stay in Cambodia. On my way back flying through Bangkok to Tokyo.
