Full steam ahead

Just made it to our coffee stop on the North Yorkshire Moors near Goathland, when down in the valley below, this steam train came chuffing along!
I thought I wouldn't manage to get to my camera in time, but just managed this photo before it went out of sight.
Made our day!
You can just see the heather coming out too.
On top of the moors in the distance it was just a mass of purple. Beautiful.

A picnic at Runswick Bay followed by a 7 mile walk along the coastal path from Runswick Bay to Staithes and back.
Mostly sunshine. Managed to avoid the rain in spite of some very black clouds which came over.
The seagulls crying, curlews calling. Sparrows chirping in the corn fields.
Wild flowers bobbing their heads along the cliff top, as we walked past.
A few fishing boats out in the bay. Pulling in their crab pots.
A friendly " Hello" greeting from holiday makers, as they past us by, also happy to be out enjoying the beautiful North Yorkshire coast.

What a wonderful day!
