Palo Verde Tree

I tried to share a photo that highlights the green bark of this tree.
The trees can photosynthesize through their bark, an important adaptation for a tree that drops its leaves in response to drought and fall cooling.
Even after many years of living in AZ, I am still amazed at the survival characteristics of the plants and animals in the desert.
