Desert Trail

A trail through the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains of Arizona. Mesquite and Palo Verde trees, Saguaro Cactus, and Desert Skies frame this journey along a rocky hillside.

Our Winter Monsoon is winding down now. We do have remnants of the runoff from rain and snows at the upper levels, above 6,000 foot elevation. This trail is at about 2800 feet.

It is February 4th and already we have had nearly 1/3 of our average annual rainfall. Because of the moisture now desert wildflowers should appear in a month or so.

After that, you will see views of the dry desert.

This trail is in Catalina State Park.
