Thorp Perrow Arboretum

Visited this Arboretum near Bedale. It covers 100 acres of woodland and can be traced back to the Domesday Book listed as "Torp" manor house, treeless and uncultivated. There are parkland trees from the 16th and 17th Centuries and the Milbank Pineatum planted in the 1840's and 50's from seed brought over from America. The design and planting of the Arboretum continues to this day under the management of Sir John Ropner.
Tired legs after a lot of walking. Couldn't manage the 100 acres.
