Edinburgh Fringe..on the streets

I was a little early this afternoon for my meeting at the Scottish Parliament, so I was able to take in the sights and sounds of the many street performers on the Royal Mile. As you can see, the street was filled with onlookers enjoying the free entertainment that is a wonderful part of the world's largest arts festival.

After my meeting, the weather had turned and it was absolutely pouring with rain. Fortunately, I bumped into the BBC's Brian Taylor and he kindly gave me a lift in his taxi to Waverley station. Brian was waxing lyrical of his hopes for the new football season and his beloved Dundee United.
