Fireworks night

The big night, or rather nights, for fireworks in Shrewsbury are not the fifth or November, or New Years Eve, but occur in August when each of the two days of the Flower Show ends with a massive firework display above the Quarry Park and the River Severn in the centre of town. One of the best things about it is the way that all of the riverside paths, the hillside below the school, and basically anywhere near but outside of the show itself (for which you need to buy a ticket) with a good view fills up with spectators. My preferred spot is usually just along the river from the Welsh Bridge, where the fireworks can be seen, and photographed, together with their reflections in the river.
