Our desert tree

In our back garden at Rarangi is this rather unusual tree. We have three of them and they were in the garden when we arrived over two years ago. The tree is some form of aloe vera species but that is all I know about it. It sends out flowers in Spring but they are not that pretty nor do they last. We have some other more unusual plants around the garden and some I know are native to South Africa.
