Joanie on the Pony

This gilded statue of Joan of Arc sits on the Parkway less than a hundred yards from the iconic Philadelphia Museum of Art.

About twenty blocks east is a statue of Don Quixote on horseback. There is an odd connection between these two knights that has always fascinated me.

The statue is one of five copies of Emmanuel Fremiet's sculpture which sits in the Place de Pyramides in Paris.

Of course, some here just refer to her as "Joanie on the Pony."
