Beam me up Scotty

An unplanned day. Well, it had been a little bit planned but the plan was foiled by men-folk being a-bed and everyone being a bit, you know, tired after the fiesta. A mass trip for churros was swapped for split enterprises with half our number sticking with the plan (mainly to hand back a child we borrowed last night) and the other half hanging at the casa for swimming and lounging.

Later Lesley took the sensible option of taking proper medical advice (ie not just mine) and is now rattling with pills and will hopefully be better soon to enjoy the last few Spanish weeks.

Later still, after a too-late-in-the-day nap for me, a discussion on metaphor, simile, analogy and euphemism. Lest that sounds too highbrow, new euphemistic uses for the French scarf words foulard and echarpe brought us back to a normal tone.

Edit: the fire is caused by Mr B flaming the BBQ with Jim Beam to (apparently) add vanilla notes... You add the bourbon just when the coals are just ready for cooking. His bravery doing this in white clothing is legendary (those white trousers are dealing with many challenges).
