Fremantle Port

Fremantle Port at Perth had some interesting ships in port.

A very large bulk car carrier that has offloaded thousands of Mitsubishis, Hyundai and Kia cars. Also some components for very large haul packs (trucks) used in the iron ore mines.

We also spotted a couple of what looked like Chinese naval ships and a number of container ships.

Then there was the SS Leeuwin II a sail training yacht that is having work done to its masts - hence the scaffolding. It had a great bow which can be seen here Leeuwin Bow

Fremantle Port has all sorts - cruise ships, container ships, naval ships, tug boats, cargo ships and ferries to Rottnest Island.

Have been through the middle of the Harbour in a little motor boat with a large cargo ship coming up quite quickly behind us - quite a nervy experience!
