Many of these fish were swimming in a docile and inebriated manner among the rocks in West Cork. Our friends decided they were bream with Marilyn Monroe lips and caught two with their bare hands and took them home and ate them.

We asked a local fisherman what he thought they might be and he said "Connors"

We asked the local cook what Connors were and she said "Wrasse"

My friend said they were Mullet

I looked in the fish book and they are grey Trigger fish, usually only found in Mediterranean waters

"Some species of triggerfish are known to make a sound akin to a grunt or snarl when taken out of the water".
