Mauve

A musician/comedian/local character, from the Black Isle, told a marvellous story at my Dad's 80th birthday that involved an elderly couple finding love for the first time and getting ready for their nuptials. "The wifie went to the trouble of buying herself a new cardigan especially. *pause* Mauve." Timing is everything - my mum and I laughed until our sides ached.

That was 5 years ago and I still think of it whenever I see anything close to that violety colour.
