The Morning After, pt. 5:



He tried to tell her, he truly did. But, "I don't remember who you are," is not the easiest of things to say, even in the best of circumstances. And these were not the best of circumstances.

He didn't lie down. Again. With her. As she wanted. That much at least should count in his favor.

He took the somewhat more gentlemanly route of putting on his pants, and followed that up most gallantly, indeed selflessly, by retrieving her dress from its perch atop the skylight of apartment 17-B. Personal safety be damned.

She wasn't particularly appreciative, but he assuaged her reservations and convinced her to put it on, pointing out that the drones across the street were already beginning to stare, their fishy little faces presssed quizically against their aquarium windows. He hinted that this little rendezvous might best be continued somewhere else, somewhere not in full view of the entire Department of Education.
