Wind farming

What a wonderful day of driving we've had today. After a rather turbulent start to our little journey today was perfect with a relaxing morning and then setting of at 12noon across amazing countryside.

We drove past multiple vineyards and around Mt Ruapehu - which made us very anxious to get on our skis again this season - and eventually ended up in Roturua, dubbed Rotovegas by Kiwis,where we stayed at an Air B&B lodging.

One of the highlights for me was seeing the multitude of wind turbines on the way - one ridge had over 50 and they looked incredibly dramatic against the darkening clouds in the back ground. I hope this shot, taken using the Hipstamatic app, does it justice.
