Golden Eagle

Gardening yesterday afternoon when asked by DS#1 "What's that big bird? Is it a Golden Eagle?" I was just getting ready my response along the lines of "Don't be so silly" etc when I looked and surprisingly it was this juvenile Golden Eagle cruising down the valley at about eye-level. Too far away from my camera, I then had to reply on DS#1 for this image. Cropped out a couple of Bee-eaters that decided to mob the Eagle.
The gardening consists of recreating two walls on the garden terrace and opening up one old citerne. Talking to our neighbour, the citerne feeds from a source that never dries up so could be useful. He also reminisced about the war-time, of using the family mule to take grain down to the mill below the house, the mill that we visited for an apero this evening.
Stunning location literally overhanging the river, owned by a Belgian couple with swimming pool and all done up inside and outside to within an inch of its life. Small enough to remind me of our Hebridean house moved to a sunnier clime. That said in winter the valley is so steep that they only get two hours of sunshine a day so more similarities to the Western Isles!
