Ripley Church Pigs

I went to Ripley, near Harrogate, for the day with Stokesley Mothers' Union. After coffee we were taken on a tour of Ripley Castle, the home of the Ingilby family. This was followed by an excellent lunch in The Boars Head hotel.

Next we went to the church where we met our former curate, Paul, who is now Vicar of 5 parishes and joined in a short service.

Then followed a 'mystery tour' which was actually a short drive to the vicarage where Paul's wife Sarah kindly gave us tea and scones. It was lovely to see the family again in their new home. Everybody agreed it was a great day.

While in Ripley Church we couldn't help spotting these knitted pigs which are scattered around the church in order to entertain, and educate, visiting children.
