Bigger and Bigger.

The Coal Clough Wind Farm at Cliviger, just outside Burnley is one of the oldest wind farms in the UK . It was built 1991/1992 and consisted of 24 turbines 46m (154ft) high. Work is now well underway to replace these 24 with 8 modern turbines. This sounds encouraging - but - the new ones are a gigantic 110m (361ft) high !!!
For comparison, Blackpool Tower is 500 ft high.
You need to view 'Large' to appreciate the size of the things - just look at the white van at the base of the new turbine .
I am not a fan of these things, and the new super-high ones are now visible from even more miles away.
