Restoration Job.

The hospital people have told me that I will need a high-ish chair with arms to assist with post-op recovery.
So, here we are. This chair, some forty plus years old, used to belong to MaggieD's Grandfather. Still good and sound, the upholstery is fine but the wood finish was looking a bit sad and worn. The old varnish is now all sanded off and the question is what colour of stain to apply. My choice would be a medium oak but I have done three different patches underneath and out of sight. We shall see.
