Let's go to Sarlat

We decided that today would be a "vacation day". So we packed up picnic stuff and drove west towards the lower Dordogne valley. We took the backroads because we knew that there would be lots of tourists about. Post picnic, we parked up in Sarlat (chased out of the first car park, which turned out to be private, and had a ten minute contretemps with the ticket dispenser in the second one). Then, guess what? Everyone else had decided to visit Sarlat today as well. Still, we had a lovely day out and a lovely drive home to oven baked salmon with French fries.
