On balance at the Falkirk Wheel

A better day. Decided to drag the lad out of bed and whisk him off to visit the Falkirk Wheel, which we hadn't done for a while. It was a great hit. The wheel itself continues to amaze, but he enjoyed the Water Balls (make like a demented hamster inside a blow-up plastic sphere) and the play park where there was an Archimedes screw and many other ways of moving water, which he enjoyed experimenting with.

It was book group this evening and the discussion was wide-ranging, but we only narrowly managed to cover the actual reading material, which had been: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and Greenvoe by George Mackay Brown. I'd read them both! Few others had... we're really slipping. But it's good to get together and the laughs made for an enjoyable evening.
