Look into my eyes

It is pretty obvious when you look at a dragonfly or a damselfly that vision is very important to them. In fact they see so well that they are able to react almost instantaneously to any small prey insect that happens to zoom by. I wanted to try to capture this in a photo, so I decided to try a head on approach. Nine times out of ten they fly off - if they can see a fly they sure as heck can see a human waving a shiny nikon in their faces. This female Beautiful Demoiselle Damselfly, however, stayed put long enough for me to get my shot.
Pretty formidable looking jaws they have too.
