Nottingham One

At the tail-end of a what could have been a guided walk around the bottom end of the city centre entitled 'Nottingham: Home of Car Parks', I finally found myself at Nottingham One, a new development of flats on the canalside down by the station. Frankly, it's a pretty dead-out building all-told but I'd seen a picture of this curious support a little while ago in the Evening Post looking for all the world like a curious neo-brutalist sculpture and had been meaning to check it out ever since. You might get a better view when they open the new footbridge and do something about the disused (and impending derelict) Victorian building behind that used to be the home of mock-medieval banquet nights for pissed-up groups of offce workers. Ah, the mixed joys of urban regeneration...!
