This house sits not in a secluded spot in the South Downs, or possibly Perthshire, but in one of Edinburgh's most salubrious inner suburbs - The Grange.

Housing in our lovely city ranges from wonderful via weird to woeful in very short distances. A worrying number of us live at the woeful end of the spectrum. It may be the building itself is in dreadful condition or is of an appalling design, but it may also be the poor planning decisions and controls along with the rise of the HMO and Buy-to-let mortgage that have allowed bad landlords to get a foothold again.
