Turning

Had a lovely afternoon with Tom and Harry, Sally and Nelly in the beautiful, overgrown and wild Nunhead Cemetery. The Fabulous Four made a scary movie on my phone and I basked in their company while the sun made an occasional welcome and warm appearance through the trees.

It's cold in the mornings, cool in the shadows and the leaves are turning. The curtains are drawn in the evenings and that fabulous fat moon has turned into a tiny sliver of silver.

These horse chestnut leaves are blighted with leaf blotch. It hasn't affected the conker crop though and we collected our first conkers of the year including lots of shiny flat bottoms and one triplet. The thrill of prising a really nice conker out of its spiky house never goes away.
