Myxomycete

Myxomycetes were once classed as fungi but they have now been given their own kingdom. There are about 40 species in the UK, some of which move, even through substrates like bricks. This one Fuligo septica var. flava is one of the commonest in the UK and came complete with two slugs. Easy to spot with its bright yellow colour and found on dead wood.
