A Fun Day!

We went into Bolton and were surprised by the number of people there - it was the bank holiday weekend Food and Drink Festival!  Lots of stalls!  I particularly like the lady on stilts who was dancing and joking with the crowd!  

After the week we have just had, food was not our main priority but we went to the Olympus to have our fish and chips and mushy peas while being serenaded by a great choir - all 1940s songs and as Ro pointed out they wrote excellent songs in those days!  The waiters were dressed in 1940 uniforms and the place was decked out with lots of nostalgic objects including some postcards on each table written home by men serving in the trenches.  That bit was sad but otherwise a very cheerful atmosphere!
