madwill's world

Purpleness

It was our 34th wedding anniversary today and Mrs madwill and I had a little tour around some of the Yorkshire Dales.

We drove to Skipton this morning and were surprised to find it was really quiet in the town - the market seemed to be much smaller than usual and there weren't many people around.

We stopped and a had a nice breakfast in a pub, a little wander around the town then drove over to Embsay. From there we headed off over the tops towards Pateley Bridge.

On the way we stopped near Greenhow to look at the view - worth a look LARGE. The heather seem to be glowing in the sun (shining between the clouds). It was fantastic watching the colours all changing as the clouds drifted across.

I also made a panorama from almost the same spot - in this you can see a huge shower heading towards Pateley Bridge. We stopped for a cream tea in the town and then headed home via Harrogate.
