Day 5 Chico Hot Springs

Today we went to a little place called Chico. It's about a two hour drive away but so worth while. There is a hot spring to swim in. Today was cold so perfect to jump into the hot spring...and it was hot.

The pools are emptied every night and filled by the natural hot spring from Yellowstone every morning. It's surrounded by mountains and I can just imagine how wonderful it would be in the snow.

Many years ago the Indians came here when they were ill as they said it was healing water. Years later a hospital was built and they used the water in the same way. Today the hospital is a hotel and the water is enjoyed by everyone.

We took this selfie after a few drinks while in the pool. We are with our lovely American friends Maggie and Gary.

Maggie nominated us to do the ice bucket challenge. We thought this was the perfect place to do it as we could jump in the hot water after. We were given a huge bucket of ice which we added cold water to. We then got videoed as we had the ice bucket poured over our heads. It's now on Facebook!

We had a really lovely day which was finished off with a meal at the home of another players parents. These people are just the best.
