View from the path...

...to Linhope Spout.

A two-walk day!

Shortish local dog walk after breakfast from Blackadder North Lodge.

Then, after tackling some washing and a few other chores, we took a well-earned afternoon off - packed a picnic and went down to the Breamish Valley for a walk to Linhope Spout, a waterfall. A very pleasant, easy walk in to the hills with fabulous views all round - only 3 miles in total, but just right for us as it's about as much as Louie the dog can manage now.

Spotted lots of wildlife - all sorts of birds (including 3 herons), hares, rabbits, a red squirrel and, on the way back home, a stoat. Also watched a man on a quad bike scattering seed (we think!) to feed young pheasants - as the seed fell on to quite a small area of ground, HUNDREDS of pheasants emerged from the undergrowth and rushed to feed. Quite an extraordinary site!
