Errwood

The level of water on Errwood Reservoir on the Cheshire/Derbyshire border must be about 4 metres lower than it should be. Surely a warning that we must try to be more careful in our use of water especially when the summer has generally been dry.
My brother and I took our frail housebound parents for their second trip out in almost a year, to see the places where they used to go for long walks. They remember the area before it was flooded to form the reservoir in 1968. The heather was spectacular on the Goyt road towards the Cat and Fiddle and the views over the surrounding countryside were extensive. It was agreed that the 92nd birthday outing was very enjoyable.
