The Simple Needs Of Strangers

The man on the far left
needs his newspaper.

He reads and reads.
He needs to know.

The woman next.
She needs her phone.
She needs to text.

The man she’s with
needs to go.

She’s keeping him waiting.

At the next table
they just need to sit
until the rain stops. Probably.

The woman on the far right, alone.
All she needs is love, love.
Love is all she needs.

She’s waiting for someone.

No doubt they all have
other needs and desires
that I don’t know about

nor need to.
Nor want to.

I have no need to write about
The Complicated Needs Of Strangers
today.

Let’s keep it simple.
