Bee's Knees

This is Mr E, the birthday boy, with his new bins. He reckons he can see the pollen on a bee's knees a mile away!! They are seriously powerful binoculars and he's looking forward to putting them to good use when we get some decent weather.

It started to rain early this morning, so we decided not to go to the Uffington Show as planned. In fact it's still raining and it's 9pm, so we made the right decision.

Our eldest Daughter and the family came over with a huge apple pie and a bottle of wine, so the dismal weather was forgotten.

All in all, I think he's had a satisfactory birthday, despite the weather.
