Machinery

A truly Welsh day - soft and damp - grey and green - waterfalls, rushing streams and reservoirs. This morning we had a close encounter with an otter that was searching the rapids below the mill. Unfortunately no camera to hand and by the time I'd put the right lens on it was too far away - an amazing experience though.

I could have posted images of flowing water, wet rocks, young persons shooting the rapids in a raft and a dilapidated Victorian post- box surrounded by ferns. But this impressive piece of machinery, which is used to control the water flow between Pontsticill and Pentwyn reservoirs, caught our eye and was the majority choice.
