FishanChips

"Ah, fish and chips - the English contribution to world cuisine.."

As I remember, this is what the baddie (Kevin Kline) sneers to poor, tied-up, terrified Michael Palin at a particularly crucial point in A Fish Called Wanda.

And - bar the sneer - he was very right indeed. Fish and chips are a great contribution to world cuisine, to be sure.

It has to be said that the fish and chips served in Aldeburgh at the Golden Galleon are particularly fine, and worth the queue on a bank holiday Sunday. You then sit on this little wall and enjoy the sea view and eat them - and you make sure that maurauding seagulls don't get a single scrap, or you'd never hear the end of it!
