Estepona old town

That's the great thing about being out in the evenings - you get chatting to the locals, bar staff and those on holiday and you discover new places on your doorstep. Haykel, one of the barmen, suggested we go to Estepona old town as he said it would be great for photography.

A couple of roads back from the promenade road, Av. Espana, there are a maze of small streets which make up the old town. The streets are adorned with flowerpots, each street having flowerpots of one particular colour and so you have a blue road, red road, purple road, spotty road and so on. Some of the buildings were a bit shabby, others well-cared for, some amazing old doors, beautiful old churches - all with immense character. We spent ages just wandering round these little streets soaking up the atmosphere. We stopped for lunch in a small restaurant in one of the side streets before heading back to the apartment for a bit of relaxation by the pool.

My favourite street was this 'green street' which wound its way up the hill. The front of this house was just a mass of brightly coloured flowers.

A few more pics of the flowerpot streets, some old doors and churches are here.
