Immigranniversary Part VII

"Too many anniversaries", he says, like every year.
I throw my hands up in mock - exasperation. "It's only FOUR!" He knows all of them, I know. It's a thing we do.

This one is not any less important than the other 3; the day I left everyone behind and followed my heart across an ocean and 1/3 of a new country. It still hurts some days, but of all the things I regret in my life, this is most certainly not one of them.

Seven years. Still not American - though my British (which was VERY confusing to people anyway) accent is all gone.
