Lion's Mane

Today me and the Gorgeous, Porridge Wog had a beach day. First the beach at the 4th barrier and then a bit further south to Newark Bay where we found many of these jellies.

This is a Lion's Mane Jellyfish. There are a lot getting washed up at the moment, apparently they settle in sheltered bays towards the end of their one year life cycle. They are also quite stingy so should be avoided...Worryingly they can also grow up to 2m in diameter.

Needless to say, both furry idiots ignored this information and almost trod on the ones wallowing in the shallows.

Now back home having cooked a fine chicken tikka masalla dinner.
