Butterfly

BIG EYES

Still trying and failing to get a decent shot of a bee in the garden, today's breeze not helping. I was on the point of giving up when this butterfly landed on the Verbena Bonariensis. This plant is about 4' tall, and has tiny flowers which were blowing on the wiry stems. With my left hand holding the plant stem, monopod between my knees and right hand on the shutter, I managed to get this.

I believe it's a Brimstone, but happy to be corrected if I am wrong. A couple more macros on my Gardening Blog

Edit note. I have since checked our gardening book and think it might be a small or large white butterfly.
