La rainette

This is a French tree frog or Hyla arborea which is common in marshy places such as the 'marais' area where we live, adjacent to the Gironde Estuary. They seem to enjoy gardens and human company... several times I've come across one, sleeping inside a rose or an iris flower, looking rather jewel-like with their strange golden eyes.
