Roarrrrr!

We've had a lovely day at the zoo today, the zoo today, the zoo today...

Nancy's a bit obsessed with The Lion King at the moment so she really wanted to see lions. Bristol zoo does have two Asiatic lions, which are endangered, because it is part of a breeding programme but I did think their enclosure was too small.

Otherwise they have phased out the bigger animals because of lack of space, which is good. They do still have their gorillas, but they have a really good enclosure, an island and a big gorilla house and they all looked in good shape. There was a gorgeous little one running around trying to get the older ones to play. The zoo is also involved in a lot of conservation projects, as most of them are these days.

So we had a great time, took a picnic and dodged the rain showers!
