Pukeko territory

Mrs Pukeko on one side of the ditch and me kneeling down on the other peering through the grass. Not sure I have this right but with her bright eye and beak in detail I thought it looked ok. Let me know if I haven't. I'm keen to learn.
We were hunting for pukeko chicks but parents weren't letting us near them. We could see the trail to the nesting area.Pukekos nest in long grass just above the water level in the ditch so you live in danger of falling in while getting your photo.
