A Rise in the Terror Threat

Fear not. Despite the raising of the terror threat to its highest level in three years, I have not been issued with a gas mask resembling the one I had to carry with me as a small child during the war.
This attachment on the side of a big bin in the street brought back unwelcome memories.

His Lordship and I took a dander down to Gosford Café this morning to fortify ourselves before a walk in the grounds of the house, which was apparently open today although we didn't see the notice until we were on our way home.

However the grounds are vast, with lakes, an ice house, boat houses and a little house that could have been home to a hobbit and seemed to be made of stone, pitted with holes as though it had spent time under the sea.
Despite all the photos taken, this one of the look alike gas mask made the cut.
