#1 the top wouldn't close after someone used it as a bottle steriliser deeming it the noisiest kettle one could own.
#2 whilst near silent, continued to taste like melted plastic nearly a month after we got it (it too was stainless steel)

#3...after 2 boils it is terribly quite & the water is bland. Perfect. And downsizing to a one litre model also makes it cute as a button & super quick. The fact that it's made by a vacuum cleaner company is yet to be seen if it stands the test of time. Because naturally one drinks tea more often than one would vacuum.
