My Life With Luna

Squirrel Monkeys

I took the grandchildren to Woburn Safari Park today, its set in 300 acres of beautiful Bedfordshire parkland. It was a coach trip and it was really lovely to have the tour through all of the parkland at the beginning and end of the visit through all the areas where the animals live.
The photographs of the big cats, black bears, giraffes and larger monkeys were taken through the coach window so unfortunately not too clear what with the reflections and movement etc.
This is of the Squirrel Monkey with her baby both of which were adorable, there are 22 living at the park with six babies born within the last few weeks. In the wild they live in the tropical forests of Central and South America in the canopy layer. The common squirrel monkey has been captured for the pet trade and for medical research but is not a threatened species.
