Hopetoun House

Breeze day out - we drove with Gill to Hopetoun House, to see Kate Downie's paintings of the Forth Road Bridge, celebrating its 50th birthday. They they give you a good new appreciation of the structure. The new bridge ( the Queensferry Crossing) is being constructed now and it's a grand though poignant sight, to see the new one starting its eclipse of the old! In case you are worrying about the grand old Forth Railway Bridge - don't worry it is still going strong. It was a beautiful day and this picture was taken in the gardens of the house. You can see the bridges from some parts of the gardens. This one gives a good idea of how grand it is, and was my best photo on the day.
