Other Men's Flowers

I have gathered a posie of other men's flowers
and nothing but the thread that
binds them is my own

Montaigne

I was confined to barracks today, so I'm afraid my blip is nothing more than my bedside table.

I usually have a book of poetry to read, this week it's Field-Marshall Lord Wavell's Other Men's Flowers; an anthology regarded as old-fashioned even when it was first published during the darkest days of World War II, but satisfying nonetheless.
