Wedding memories

The weather was very much better than today on 1st September 1962 when Normous and I were married in this church, St Mary's in Reigate. It was a very hot day and the reception was in a beautiful garden belonging to a friend of my stepfather, so we were very fortunate. The champagne flowed and it was a lovely afternoon. In those days there was no noisy party in the evening and it was all over by 5pm. Normous and I then drove down to Salisbury for the first night of our married life. Luckily there was no drink drive law in those days, and not much traffic either!
This water colour of the church was a wedding present to us from my stepfather.
