Welcome, Great Pumpkin!

Yesterday, thanks to a chum who has an allotment, we welcomed the Great Pumpkin into our home. It was certainly a wondrous beast and I had to transport it in a small crate on wheels from Dugald-the-elder's house to ours.

After several hours admiring the beast Roland set to with (probably) an axe and I came home to find pot of pumpkin soup simmering away, and a pumpkin pie for dessert in the oven.

There is still much pumpkin to be enjoyed. Dugald-the-elder's lovely wife Jenny is talking about making a 'pumpkin furnace'.
