Bamboo scaffolding

Wow, September already. Has this year flown by or what?

For quite a while now, September for me (us) meant 'university application time' for Jon. And now we are here and this daunting task must proceed. The talk last week at school was mostly about this and the application process and I walked away from there feeling rather heavy hearted because we are now at that stage of our lives ... applying for universities for our oldest son, which means, he'll be off soon. Goodness, where did that time go? Sometimes I felt like it couldn't come soon enough, and then there are days where I find myself grieving already.

For most kids in HK, it means going to another country (or their home countries) for uni which means them having to be independent and away from their parents' watchful eye!! Some families usually return to their homes at this stage, but we don't have plans of doing that, yet! Aah, I hate change!

Anyway, more of journaling my day ... had to 'inform' management that we would be having some scaffolding put up outside our window, which they weren't happy about because I didn't get planning permission. It's just to check the compressor of the AC for Pete's sake!!! There's no 'building work' being done. Our contractor managed to talk to him and the scaffolding is up, as you can see from this pic, and tomorrow we'll find out what the problem is. Luckily, we have not been melting in the 38C heat at the moment, thanks to other ACs in the family room and office.

Went into town briefly to pick up some yummy Peninsula moon cakes. Yes, its Mid Autumn festival soon, one of our favourite Chinese festivals.

Also managed to find some time to finalise more for my upcoming trip to Dubai. So feeling like much was accomplished.

Oh, Jon's gone off to Thailand for a school 'business' trip. They are going to see how a small hotel is run/managed, as part of their business course. How lucky are these kids???

Pretty busy day, and I was exhausted at the end of it and really didn't feel up to blipping.
